Recent climate-positive actions taken by the City of Cornelius

  • Mandatory food waste recycling for certain businesses
  • Residential food waste collection program started in 2021
  • Starting with our Fire Department, all City facilities now have food scraps collection for employees
  • Switched all City diesel trucks and equipment, as well as backup power generators, to fossil-free R99 renewable diesel
