Boards, Committees, and Commissions
Serving on a City of Cornelius committee is one way members of the public can volunteer and get involved with their city government. The boards, committees, and commissions serve mostly in an advisory capacity to the City by providing expertise, identifying public concerns and focuses, and reviewing, advocating for and enforcing policies and regulations. Members also dedicate hundreds of hours performing work through public education, research, and study. Members appointed by the Mayor and City Council.
Cornelius City Council Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers located at 1355 N. Barlow St., Cornelius, OR 97113. |
Budget Committee Consists of the Cornelius City Council and five Cornelius citizens appointed by the Mayor and Council for 3 year terms. Serves as the fiscal planning board for the City of Cornelius. The Committee reviews the proposed budget rendered by City Staff. The committee may approve the proposed budget intact, or request to change a part or all of it prior to final approval. After review and eventual decision by the Budget Committee the budget is forwarded to the City Council for formal adoption prior to June 30th of each year. Economic Development Commission Meetings are held as needed throughout the year. |
Library Advisory Board Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Library at 1370 N. Adair St., Cornelius, OR 97113. |
Planning Commission
Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers located at 1355 N. Barlow St., Cornelius, OR 97113. |
Police Advisory Board (PAB) |
Public Infrastructure Advisory Board (PIAB) Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at 1300 S. Kodiak Cir, Cornelius, OR 97113. |
Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Consists of up to twenty students from local high schools that are in and near Cornelius, members must be a Cornelius resident. Students shall be equivalent to grades from 9-12 during their appointed terms of service. The YAC provides youth in Cornelius an opportunity to become involved in city government. |
