About the Youth Advisory Council

Founded in 2017, The Cornelius Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a rad crew on a mission to steer the future of the Cornelius community by diving into city policies, programs, and projects!

2023-24 Youth Advisory Council

Applications to join the 2023-24 Youth Advisory Council are now Open.

Requirements:

  • Must be in grades 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade
  • Live within the City of Cornelius

Application Process:


 

YAC Goals

Members work to promote an understanding between local youth and local government by:

  • Find creative ways to educate the general public concerning issues affecting Cornelius's youth.
  • Provide review and comment to elected officials and City decision-makers regarding public issues, projects and proposals that have an impact on youth.
  • Work with City Council, City departments, Forest Grove/Cornelius Chamber of Commerce, civic groups and other community organizations to create civic engagement opportunities for local youth.
