Founded in 2017, The Cornelius Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a rad crew on a mission to steer the future of the Cornelius community by diving into city policies, programs, and projects!

2023-24 Youth Advisory Council
Applications to join the 2023-24 Youth Advisory Council are now Open.
Requirements:
- Must be in grades 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade
- Live within the City of Cornelius
Application Process:
- Complete the application.
- Return complete applications to Cornelius City Hall (1355 N. Barlow Street, Cornelius, OR 97113) or via E-mail to itzel.sayago@corneliusor.gov.
- A portion of candidates may be asked to participate in an interview process.
- 5 to 20 students are selected to serve on the Youth Advisory Council each year.
YAC Goals
Members work to promote an understanding between local youth and local government by:
- Find creative ways to educate the general public concerning issues affecting Cornelius's youth.
- Provide review and comment to elected officials and City decision-makers regarding public issues, projects and proposals that have an impact on youth.
- Work with City Council, City departments, Forest Grove/Cornelius Chamber of Commerce, civic groups and other community organizations to create civic engagement opportunities for local youth.
