Mission Statement
Building high quality infrastructure that minimizes future maintenance costs.
Services Provided
The City Engineer’s office is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of the City’s infrastructure including: streets, water, sanitary sewers, parks and stormwater systems. The office is also responsible for approving and overseeing stormwater treatment systems on private property, erosion control on construction sites, and construction within the public right-of-ways.
The City's Public Works Standards guide design and construction of the City's infrastructure. Additionally, the Design and Construction Standards from the regional sewer and stormwater agency, Clean Water Services (CWS), dictate additional requirements for sanitary sewers, stormwater, and erosion control. The requirements from CWS can be found on their website: cleanwaterservices.org
Since Hwy. 8 (Adair and Baseline) is a state highway, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) also maintains approval authority for any work within the Hwy. 8 right-of-way.
