Development & Permitting

Business owners, property owners and residents apply for land use permits on a daily basis.  Applicants file forms and applications and pay the associated fees to start their projects.  Projects range from new homes and businesses to signs and home occupation permits.  All of these activities are reviewed by city staff to ensure compliance with the Cornelius Municipal Code Chapter 18 (Zoning) and the Comprehensive Plan (linked below).  

Planning is responsible for maintaining compliance with Oregon's Statewide Planning Goals, providing support to the Planning Commission and reviewing projects for compliance with the City's codes and plans.
