Honoring a Hero on His 104th Birthday!
On this Fourth of July, we honored a true American hero, Ike Schab Jr., as he celebrated his 104th birthday at McMenamins Cornelius Roadhouse. Ike, a distinguished U.S. Navy veteran and one of the fewer than two dozen remaining survivors of Pearl Harbor, was surrounded by his loving family, including his 5 children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Cornelius Chief of Police, Mitch Coley, a retired combat veteran himself, made a special visit to extend heartfelt birthday wishes. In a touching moment of veteran camaraderie, Chief Coley expressed his gratitude for Ike's extraordinary service and presented him with a Cornelius Police Department challenge coin.
